Clipper Round the World Race Royal Albert Dock Liverpool

After entering Canning Dock from the River Mersey the yachts entered the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool watched and cheered by thousands .

Clipper Round the World Race

On Saturday 28 July 2018 the Clipper Round the World Race finished in Liverpool . The race  began eleven months ago starting from Liverpool with thirty three yachts taking part , eleven yachts managed to complete the journey . The winning yacht was Sanyo Serenity Coast  skippered by Australian Wendy Tuck from Sydney . Well done to all crews for a fantastic achievement .

Lady Chapel Liverpool Anglican Cathedral

Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe . It is a modern cathedral , and it was under construction for most of the 20th Century . The first part of the cathedral  to be finished was the Lady chapel .

Royal Albert Dock Liverpool

On Wednesday 6 June 2018 , Her majesty The Queen bestowed the honour of Royal to the Albert Dock . The Albert Dock will now be called the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool . The Albert Dock was designed by Jesse Hartley and opened on 30 July 1846 .Following years of decline the dock was restored in the 1980s to become a major attraction and home to both the Tate , and the Merseyside Maritime Museum .
